A: To remove the instrument panel center housing, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the trim bezel around the shift lever and the screws from the small instrument panel center storage compartment. Slide out the compartment and ensure that the two lower screws are removed. Use a plastic trim tool or a screwdriver wrapped with electrical tape to pry off the instrument panel center housing, which has three clips on each side. Disconnect all the wiring from the rear seat of the unit. Rotate the temperature selector knob counterclockwise and release the retaining clips from the temperature cable. Pull the cable from the rear of the knob. From the rear of the unit, remove the four mounting screws from the A/C switch assembly and separate it from the housing. To install, simply reverse the removal steps.
