- A:Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the heal shield covering the wiring harness and sensor. Disconnect the electrical connector from the CKP sensor, which is located at the rear of the engine block on the firewall side. Unscrew the mounting fastener and remove the CKP sensor. Before installing the sensor, lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist

- A:To remove the 3.4L V6 engine, start by raising the front of the vehicle and securely placing it on jack stands. Then, disconnect the wiring from the CKP sensor and unscrew the mounting fastener to remove the sensor. For the 3.0L and 3.6L V6 engines, follow the same steps for raising the vehicle and disconnecting the wiring from the CKP sensor. However, if you're working on 2009 and earlier models with AWD, you'll also need to remove the transfer case, or if you're working on 2010 and later models, remove the right side catalytic converter. For the 2.4L four-cylinder engine, the crankshaft sensor is located just below the oil filter housing. Disconnect the electrical connector to the sensor and remove the mounting bolt and the sensor from the cylinder block.
