Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the engine covers. Remove the air intake ducts. For the 3.2L V6 engine, clamp off the coolant hoses connected to the throttle body. Disconnect the vent tube and coolant lines from the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the throttle body mounting fasteners to detach it from the intake manifold. For the 2.8L, 3.0L, and 3.6L V6 engines, disconnect the throttle body electrical connector and remove the wiring harness holder if equipped. Remove the throttle body mounting fasteners and detach it from the intake manifold. For the 5.7L V8 engine, clamp off the coolant hoses connected to the throttle body. Disconnect the throttle body and air control valve electrical connectors, crankcase vent hose, and coolant lines. Remove the throttle body mounting fasteners and detach it from the intake manifold. For the 6.0L and 6.2L V8 engines, disconnect the throttle body electrical connector and remove the wiring harness holder if equipped. Remove the throttle body mounting fasteners and detach it from the intake manifold. For all models, discard the gasket and cover the intake manifold opening. Install a new gasket, tighten the throttle body fasteners, and perform the idle relearn procedure. If the engine does not idle properly after the relearn procedure, drive the vehicle above 44 mph, then decelerate and accelerate several times, allowing it to idle in between. Clear any codes that are present.
