    Q:
How can the functionality of side view mirrors be tested on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
The electric rearview mirrors utilize two motors to adjust the glass, one for vertical movements and the other for horizontal adjustments. To test the functionality of the mirrors, ensure that the ignition is in the ACC position and the engine is turned off. Roll down the windows and operate the mirror control switch, testing all functions for both the left and right side mirrors. Pay attention to any sounds emitted by the electric motors within the mirrors. If the motors can be heard but the mirror glass does not move, it is likely that there is an issue with the drive mechanism inside the mirror. In such cases, the entire mirror unit must be replaced as it does not contain user-serviceable parts. If the mirrors do not operate at all and no sound is produced, it is advisable to check the fuses. If the fuses are in proper working condition, the next step is to remove the mirror control switch and have its continuity checked by a dealer service department or a qualified shop. Additionally, it is important to inspect the ground connections. If the mirror still fails to function, remove it and examine the wires at the mirror for voltage. If there is no voltage in each switch position, it is necessary to inspect the circuit between the mirror and control switch for any opens or shorts. However, if voltage is present, remove the mirror and conduct a test off the vehicle using jumper wires. If the mirror fails this test, it should be replaced.

How to remove and install side view mirrors on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
For outside mirrors,Remove the small interior trim panel that covers the mirror's mounting nuts. On 2010 and later Equinox models, the door panel and door window frame panel must be removed to access the electrical connectors for the mirrors. Remove the small insulator, then disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the mirror. Remove the mirror mounting nuts, then detach it from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal. Inside mirror: Disconnect the electrical connector from the mirror, if equipped. Remove the setscrew located at the base of the mirror stalk. Slide the mirror upwards to remove it from its mount. Remove the mirror set screw, then carefully lift the mirror upwards towards the top of the glass. If the mount plate itself has come off the windshield, adhesive kits are available at auto parts stores to resecure it. Follow the instructions included with the kit. Be sure to position the flanged part of the mount away from the glass and the narrower part pointing up.

How to replace the outside and inside side view mirrors on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the outside mirror, it is necessary to first remove the triangular upper door trim panel so that you can gain access to the mirror mounting bolts, in addition to which it may also be necessary to remove the entire door panel. Third, one has to remove the mirror wiring harness from the door and pull out the connector. Three bolts at the outside of the mirror have to be unscrewed; additionally, in the case of power mirrors, the nut connecting the electrical plug has to be loosened, and the mirror has to be dismantled from the door. For this installation process, the process is to reverse the above steps of removal. For the inside mirror, if the head can be opened, use a flat blade to pry it apart and disconnected the connector. Turn the Torx setscrew a little counterclockwise and then take the mirror off the support base placed on the windshield. He noted that reinstallation is carried out in a reverse manner; that is from top to bottom. If the base has been detached at the support, it can be easily fixed using a mirror-adhesive-kit, which is available at auto-parts-stores; clean the windshield and the base properly and then follow the instruction for the adhesive and left the base stick to the windshield overnight before putting back the mirror.

How to remove and install side view mirrors on Saturn ION? Posted by Customer
    A:
On models with manual mirrors and models where it's detachable from the door panel, remove the front door interior sail panel using a trim tool to pry off the mirror panel. On models where it's not detachable, the whole door panel must be removed. Remove the foam insulator, if equipped. If you're removing a power mirror, disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the three mirror retaining nuts and detach the mirror from the vehicle by disconnecting the electrical connector and removing the mirror mounting nuts. Installation is the reverse of removal. To remove the mirror glass, push the face of the mirror in at the bottom until the mirror reaches the stop. Insert a trim removal tool behind the glass until it reaches the first support rib, then pry outward carefully until the mirror glass is free. Install the mirror glass and align the mirror face to the backing plate. Carefully apply pressure to the glass, using a thick pad across the glass until the mirror glass clicks into place. To remove the inside mirror, loosen the mirror retaining screw and slide the mirror up and off its base. Where equipped, disconnect the electrical connector at the mirror. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the screw securely. If the mount plate itself has come off the windshield, adhesive kits are available at auto parts stores to resecure it.
