Some of these models are fitted with a Body Control Module (BCM) that integrates several systems into a central module and can therefore be easily diagnosed with a professional scan tool. The BCM controls door locks and unlock, power windows and the ignition lock and security system, interior lights including the DRL's, horn, wipers, heat/AC, power mirrors etc. If the vehicle does not operate as intended it is advised to seek the help of a dealership service department or a certified auto technician. The electric rear view mirrors use two motors for movement while some are equipped with memory mirrors interlinked with power seat memory and the BCM. Any complications should be solved with help of a professional independent repair facility or local dealer. The switch used for controlling the position of the left or right side mirror is used for passing voltage to it and while ignition is on ACC and the engine not running, the windows should be rolled down and the mirror control switch should be operated through all the positions. The sound of electric motors running in the mirrors must be sought; if motor sound is heard but the mirror glass does not move, then the inner part of the mirror may be spoilt, requiring replacement of the entire mirror. When the mirrors do not work and no noise is produced, the next thing to do is to look for a fuse. If the fuses are all okay, the mirror control switch has to be then disconnected in order to check its continuity at a qualified shop, while the grounds have to be checked. In the case where the mirror is not functioning then the mirror has to be disconnected so as to check for voltage on the wires. Inasmuch as voltage is missing in each switch position, there should be opens and shorts checks in the circuit between the mirror and the control switch. The user can hold the switch and open/closing the door to check whether the contact is lost in any point of the door jamb. If voltage is present, you can test the mirror with jumper wires away from the vehicle but, must refer to various wiring harness diagrams to determine which leads are safe to apply to not damage the mirror drive motors. In the event the mirror does not meet this test, then it should be replaced.
