- Q:How to remove and install the IAC valve on a Cadillac DeVille and DTS? Posted by Customer
- A:The IC valve, which is the Idle Control Valve, is located on the front of the throttle body. To detach it from the throttle body, unplug the electrical connector and remove the retaining screws. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the IC valve. Remove the IC valve retaining screws, then remove the IC valve from the throttle body. Remove and discard the old IC valve 0-ring, and coat the 0-ring with a little engine oil to protect it during installation of the IC valve. Install a new 0-ring on the IC valve, using a little clean engine oil on the 0-ring to protect it from damage during installation of the IC valve. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal. This procedure applies to 2005 and earlier models only.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
