- A:Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Block the front wheels to keep the vehicle from rolling. Remove the shock absorber lower mounting nut and bolt. On the right side shock absorber, remove the parking brake cable bracket. Remove the shock absorber upper mounting nut and slide the shock absorber off the bolt that protrudes through the frame.
