    Q:
How to replace the rear Wheel Hub on Pontiac Grand Prix? Posted by Customer
    A:
The rear hub and wheel bearing assembly is integrated and is designed as a sealed for life system that must be replaced as a single unit. Start the process of removal by removing the wheel lug nuts, lifting the rear of the car and supporting it with jack stands, and made sure that the front wheels are secured to avoid movement. Take off the wheel, then take off the brake drum or if it is disc type take off the brake caliper and supporting it with wire. Disconnect the parking brake cable, if possible, as well as remove the ABS electrical connector, if needed. Second, set the vehicle in the lift and then go for the removal of four bolts that are responsible for joining the hub and the bearing assembly to the knuckle. Gently tilt the hub and bearing assembly, the direction is toward to the brake caliper bracket as required. For fitting, on models with rear disc brakes, take parking brake actuator from the previous hub and fix it on the new one. Place the hub and bearing assembly on the knuckle, make the holes match and insert the bolts, once all four bolts have been inserted you can apply pressure as recommended by the engineer in charge until the torque is as required. Last, replace the brake drum or the brake caliper and disc by sparing the caliper bolts to the recommended torque or use legend 'A', put the wheel back; lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel lug nuts with the recommended torque or use legend 'B'.
