How do you replace the PCV valve for the 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass? Posted by Customer

To replace the PCV valve, first, pull the valve (with the hose attached) from its rubber grommet in the rocker arm cover. Then, use pliers or a screwdriver to loosen the clamp at the end of the hose and move it upwards on the PCV hose. Next, pull the PCV valve from the end of the hose, noting its installed position and direction. After that, compare the old valve with the new one to ensure they are identical. Push the new valve into the end of the hose until it is fully seated. Move the hose clamp down the hose and tighten it securely around the end of the hose. Check the rubber grommet in the cover for damage and replace it if necessary. Finally, push the PCV valve and hose securely into the rocker arm cover.
