    Q:
How to remove and install the oil pump and oil pan in 2.2L four cylinder engine on Pontiac Grand Prix? Posted by Customer
    A:
If you don't already have it out of the way, take off the oil pan and position a large drain pan underneath the engine. Remove the bolts of the pump on its position with the rear main bearing cap and then lower the pump and extension shaft down off the engine. Before installation of the pump, the extension shaft of the pump should be rotated and oil poured into the pick-up while the pump is primed with engine oil. Bolt the pump, extension shaft and retainer to the main bearing cap and position the dowel pin end of the pump so that it fits the dowel pins at the bottom and top of the oil pump so that the top end of the extension shaft fits into the lower end of the oil pump drive and slips well into place. Bolt on the pump mounting bolt and torque the same, and then bolt on the oil pan and fill up the oil.

    Q:
How to remove and install the Oil Pump in 2.5L four cylinder engine on Pontiac Grand Prix? Posted by Customer
    A:
Take an adequate drain pan beneath the engine; unbolt the pump cover from the force balancer assembly and drop the pump; this action also takes out the gears from the balancer housing. To install, eject petroleum jelly on the outer part of the gear through the cavities to prime it, then fix the oil pump at the force balancer assembly, with the top end of the drive shaft to be slotted into the lower end of the oil pump. Finally the pump mounting bolts are tightened to the required torque then the oil pan is fitted and oil added.
