This procedure applies to all non-super-charged models. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. For 5.7L (LS1/LS6) engines on 1999 through 2004 models, remove the PCV hose bracket nut and move the PCV tube and hoses out of the way. Remove the fuel rail and injectors. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAP sensor located at the rear of the intake manifold. Pull the MAP sensor toward the front of the vehicle, then pull the sensor up and out of the retainer. Installation is the reverse of removal. Push the sensor down so the retainer engages with it securely. For 6.0L (LS2), 6.2L (LS3) and 7.0L (LS7) engines, the MAP sensor is located just behind the throttle body, on the right side of the intake manifold. Remove the oil filler cap, then remove the right-side engine cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAP sensor. Pull the MAP sensor out of the intake manifold. Remove the old grommet from the MAP sensor and inspect it. If the grommet is cracked or torn, replace it. Use a small amount of clean engine oil on the grommet so that it doesn't tear when pushing the MAP sensor into its mounting hole. Installation is the reverse of removal.

The sensor is located on the right side of the charge air cooler cover. To remove it, first disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor. Then, remove the mounting fasteners and remove the sensor from the charge air cooler cover. To install, simply follow the removal process in reverse.
