- A:To remove and install the oil seal, begin by disconnecting the negative battery cable and removing the serpentine belt. Raise and support the vehicle, then remove the right front tire and air deflector. Loosen and reposition the heater bypass line. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt and use a wheel puller to remove the pulley from the crankshaft. Pry the old oil seal from the timing case cover and discard it. To install the new seal, clean the mounting surface, lubricate the seal with engine oil and use an oil seal installation tool to drive the new seal into the timing case cover.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
