The bumpers on truck models are typically chrome-plated steel with black or color-matched plastic trim, while SUV models have flexible plastic covers reinforced by metal framework. To remove the front bumper, support it with a jack or jack stand, disconnect electrical connectors at the fog lights, remove the radiator grille and fender liner fasteners, and detach the bumper with an assistant supporting it. For the rear bumper, support it with a jack or jack stand, disconnect electrical connectors for license plate lights and other components, and remove bolts, nuts, and stud plates retaining the bumper to the frame. To remove the front bumper cover on SUV models, remove headlight housings, fender liner fasteners, and electrical connectors at the fog lights, detach the cover at the top of each fender well and inside at the bottom on each side, and remove fasteners above the grill attaching the cover to the radiator support. For the rear bumper cover, remove rear fender liners, lower fasteners at the bottom of the cover, top and inside fasteners on each side, and electrical connectors for rear backup sensors, and remove fasteners from the top of the cover. Installation for all bumpers is the reverse of removal.
