- Q:How do you remove the headlight housing on a Chevrolet truck? Posted by Customer
- A:To remove the headlight housing on a Chevrolet truck, start by removing the radiator grille or trim piece on GMC models. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and remove the front wheel and fender well liner. Disconnect the headlight housing electrical connector and loosen the lower outer mounting bolt before removing the two upper bolts. Carefully pull out the headlight housing, noting the locator pins on the outer edge. For Avalanche, Suburban, and Tahoe models, remove the fender well liner and upper headlight housing bolts before removing the bumper cover and lower housing bolt. Grasp the housing and pull it forward to disengage the locating pins. For Yukon models, remove the fender well liner and bumper cover before loosening the lower outer mounting bolts and removing the upper bolts. Pull the housing forward to disengage the locator tabs and disconnect the electrical connector. Installation is the reverse of removal, and headlights should be adjusted after installation.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
