To remove the hub assembly, start by loosening the front wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and then proceed to remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way with a piece of wire. Remove the caliper mounting bracket and pull the disc off the hub. Next, remove the wheel speed sensor from the hub. From the back side of the steering knuckle, remove the hub retaining bolts and the disc shield. Finally, remove the hub from the steering knuckle by tapping it from side-to-side if necessary. To install the hub assembly, begin by cleaning the mating surfaces on the steering knuckle, bearing flange, and knuckle bore. Position the disc shield on the steering knuckle and insert the hub and bearing assembly into the steering knuckle. Install the bolts and tighten them to the proper torque specifications. Insert the ABS wheel speed sensor into its hole in the hub and tighten the bolt to the proper torque specifications. Install the brake disc, caliper mounting bracket, and caliper. For 4WD models, install the hub nut and tighten it to the suitable torque specifications, preventing the axle from turning by inserting a screwdriver through the caliper and into a disc cooling vane. Finally, install the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the correct torque specifications.
