To remove the drive axle/hub, start by loosening the drive axle/hub nut and the wheel lug nuts. Then, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel and mark the exact position of the strut to the steering knuckle. Loosen, but do not remove, the strut to steering knuckle bolts. Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle arm and remove the hub and bearing assembly if necessary. Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle and push the drive axle from the hub, supporting the end with a piece of wire. Finally, separate the steering knuckle from the strut. To install the drive axle/hub, guide the knuckle and hub assembly into position, inserting the drive axle into the hub. Push the knuckle into the strut flange and install the bolts and nuts, but do not tighten them yet. Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle and tighten the nut, installing a new cotter pin. Attach the tie rod end to the steering knuckle arm and tighten the strut bolt nuts, the ball joint to control arm bolt and nuts, and the tie rod nut, replacing all cotter pins with new ones. Place the brake disc on the hub and install the caliper and wheel speed sensor. Install a new drive axle/hub nut and tighten it securely. Finally, install the wheels and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts. Tighten the drive axle/hub nut to the specified torque.
