- A:To remove the front suspension of a vehicle, start by raising the front of the vehicle and supporting it securely on jack stands. Apply the parking brake for safety. Then, support the lower control arm with a jack to compress the coil spring to its normal ride height. Remove the wheel and disconnect the ABS wheel speed sensor. Next, remove the brake caliper and the brake disc/hub assembly. If equipped, remove the disc splash shield. Disconnect the tie-rod end from the knuckle and disconnect the ball joints from the steering knuckle. Finally, remove the steering knuckle.
