    Q:
What are the steps involved in the removal and reinstallation process of the intake manifold in inline engine on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
To begin the removal process, disconnect the cables from the negative and positive terminals of the battery, then take out the battery and battery box. Next, detach the air intake hose from the air cleaner resonator box located over the valve cover, and pry up the resonator box from the clips on the right side of the valve cover until its pins are free. After that, remove the throttle body and disconnect the electrical harnesses from their brackets along with the MAP sensor connector. Proceed to take off the MAP sensor bracket and disconnect the crankcase vent hose from its ports on the manifold and valve cover. Remove the engine harness bracket, ensuring to support the vehicle on jackstands to access the lower engine harness, which requires removing the left front wheel and inner fender liner. Next, take out the alternator and disconnect the vacuum hose from the power brake booster; for 2007 and later models, also remove the oil dipstick and dipstick tube. Loosen the left front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands, and remove the left front wheel along with the plastic inner fender liner. Working through the fenderwell opening, remove the lower wiring harness bracket, followed by the intake manifold bolts, and then take out the manifold. Clean and inspect the intake manifold for any damage, cracks, or warping after removing the old gasket. For installation, place a new gasket in the intake manifold without the need for sealant, and then follow the reverse order of removal for reassembly, tightening the intake manifold bolts gradually from the middle bolts out to the ends.

    Q:
How to remove and install the intake manifold in V8 engine on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before performing the procedure of the intake manifold's removal one should turn off the fuel system and moreover, disconnect the lead of the negative terminal on the battery. After that, took out the air filter housing, and then the outlet duct and the alternator. Remove and isolate all engine wiring harnesses that hinder the taking out of intake manifold, removing all harness retaining clips and remove all the harnesses and keep them aside safely. Remove the hvac hoses from the power brake booster, the canister purge solenoid hose, the fuel line from fuel rail, and the PCV hose from the intake manifold. Remove any other electrical connections or vacuum lines that maybe connected to the intake manifold or throttle. Turn the intake manifold mounting bolts in a counterclockwise direction in the reverse sequence that was used for tightening and unscrew the bolts in a quarter-turn until they can be unscrewed by hand although use a prybar to loosen the gasket since it is difficult to remove it without damaging the surface of the block. Take off the intake manifold while it is essential to look for and unplug any other connection that may still be in place. When it comes to installation, the surfaces of the cylinder heads, block and manifold should be free from any gasket residue, while removing the previous layer should not be abrasive. Clean the mating surfaces with a cloth moistened with safety solvent and vacuum off the area. Thread the threads in the bolt holes with a tap and remove the debris from inside the holes with compressed air and wearing a safety glass. Insert new gaskets on the intake manifold where they need to form tight snap-fits into the intake manifold port openings. Gently position the manifold and then align the bolts, and then torque them to the right sequence to segment torque without over-tensioning them. Follow the removal process in the reverse, after that the start the engine and check for vacuum leaks mostly at the joints between the intake manifold.

    Q:
How to remove and install the intake manifold in six cylinder engine on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, the cable needs to be disconnected from the negative terminal of the battery. Subsequently, allow the removal of the throttle body and then eliminate the PCM from the car. Remove the electrical harnesses from their brackets and the MAP sensor connector and if it is installed, remove the front differential vent hose from the clip. I also removed the crankcase vent hose from its fitting on the manifold hookup as well. Move on in the removal of the engine harness bracket and the alternator. Remove the vacuum hose from the power brake booster then the bolts of the intake manifold and take the manifold. After having pulled off the gasket it is necessary to clean and inspect the intake manifold for the presence of scratches or cracks, or if it is warped. To replace the gasket put new one without any sealant and reverse the process of removal while tightening the bolts of intake manifold in a gradual manner to the recommended torque.

    Q:
How to remove the intake manifold on 4.3L V6 engine on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start with, disconnect the cable from the battery's negative terminal prior to eliminating the intake manifold. Also, drain coolant and remove ignition coil as well as EVAP canister tube. In addition, sever heater hoses; throttle body wiring, and numerous electrical connectors. Moreover, get rid of PCV valve hose; power brake booster hose, and radiator hose. Furthermore, drop water pump intake hose together with drivebelt. And then, release power steering pump bracket nut and bolts. Finally, shift power steering pump bracket forward in order to reach the bolt at front of intake manifold. Therefore, remove intake lower manifold mounting bolts and pry up manifold to break gasket seal. Eventually loosen all connections attaching the intake manifold while ensuring nothing is still attached. For installation purposes: clean mating surfaces and tap thread in bolt holes; apply RTV sealant on front and rear manifolds' mating surfaces plus a thin ring around new intake manifold gaskets' cylinder head side coolant passage holes; place gaskets accordingly while sealant is still wet then set the manifold in position; install bolts eventually following recommended sequence; finally perform remaining tasks in reversed manner fill cooling system again and check for leaks at joints between intake manifolds.
