- A:The cruise control system on 2003 and 2004 models maintains vehicle speed using an electrically-operated motor connected to the throttle lever by a cable. It consists of the cruise control module, switches, cable, Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and brake light switch. Diagnostic procedures for the cruise control system are not covered in this manual, but some general procedures to locate common problems are listed. These include checking fuses, testing the brake lights, inspecting the control cable, and test driving the vehicle. If the cruise control still doesn't work, it is recommended to take it to a dealer service department or automotive electrical specialist.
