- A:To remove the windshield wiper motor, start by removing the wiper arm nuts and marking the relationship of the wiper arms to their shafts. Then, remove both wiper arms. Next, remove the plastic cowl cover and disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor. Remove the two mounting bolts of the windshield wiper motor and linkage/transmission assembly, and then remove the assembly. Use a screwdriver or forked release tool to carefully pry the link rod from the pivot pin on the motor's crank arm. Mark the relationship of the crank arm to the motor shaft and remove the crank arm. Finally, remove the motor mounting bolts and remove the motor from its mounting bracket. For the rear wiper motor removal, start by removing the trim cap and unscrewing the wiper arm nut. Mark the relationship of the rear wiper arm to the motor shaft and remove the arm. Remove the trim panel from the liftgate and disconnect the electrical connector from the motor.
