Disconnect the fuel lines and cap the fittings to prevent leaks. Use a back-up wrench when disconnecting the fuel feed line.

To begin the intake manifold removal procedure, first, relieve the fuel injection system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable. Following this, drain the cooling system and remove the air intake duct between the air cleaner housing and the throttle body. Carefully label and disconnect various electrical connectors such as the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve connector, Idle Air Control (IAC) valve connector, Throttle Position (TP) sensor connector, Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) canister purge valve connector, ground terminal on the intake manifold, and the Manifold Differential Pressure (MDP)/Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor connector. Next, label and disconnect several hoses from different components, including the brake booster hose, PCV hose, fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose, canister purge hose, vacuum hose, coolant hoses, and breather hose from the throttle body. Disconnect the throttle cable and, if applicable, the throttle valve cable on vehicles with automatic transmissions. If you plan to replace the intake manifold, remove the throttle body and fuel rail with fuel injectors. Remove the two intake manifold stiffener plates and detach the coolant pipe from the intake manifold. Proceed to remove the intake manifold mounting bolts and nuts, and carefully remove the intake manifold from the engine, ensuring not to pry between gasket sealing surfaces or tap on the throttle body. Afterward, clean the mating surfaces thoroughly and install the manifold using a new gasket, tightening the bolts and nuts gradually in a cross-pattern. Finally, reinstall the remaining components in reverse order, add coolant, run the engine, and check for any leaks or issues.
