GM 25743472 Switch Assembly, Turn Signal & Headlamp & Headlamp Dimmer & Windshield Wiper

For 2007 and earlier models, the dimmer switch is mounted in the overhead console. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Next, remove the left end trim panel from the instrument panel along with the left side trim strips. Using a trim tool, pry out the driver's side switch panel and disconnect the electrical connectors for the dimmer switch and the driver information center switch from the backside of the trim panel. To remove the dimmer switch, pry the switch panel out of the trim panel with a small screwdriver, then remove the mounting fasteners and the driver information center switch. Disconnect the electrical connector and take out the dimmer switch from the trim panel, then install a new instrument panel dimmer switch into the bezel, ensuring it snaps into place, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the hazard flasher switch on 2007 and earlier models, pry out the center air vent and disconnect the hazard switch electrical connector, then release the tabs securing the switch to the vent panel, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2008 and later models, the hazard flasher is part of the radio control assembly and must be replaced as an assembly; start by removing the center trim radio and heater/air control panel, then take out the radio control assembly from the trim panel and have the unit tested, with installation being the reverse of removal.

Take off the cable from negative terminal of the battery. Lose the knee bolster trim panel, the knee bolster, and the steering column shrouds. For removal of the windshield wiper switch on the 2007 and earlier model, there are screws on the top side of the switch and there are others around the switch housing and one has to unscrew them then remove the switch. For the wiper switch on the 2008 and late models pull the locking tabs located at the top and at the bottom and pull the switch out of the housing. Removal is the process of which installation is the exact opposite. For the headlight / turn signal switch you have to take out the screws at the top and a side of the switch, then take it out of the switch housing on 2007 and earlier models. Refer to Fastener's identification section for fastens needed to remove the headlight/turn signal switch for models produced since 2008 Remove the headlight/turn signal switch by pushing the locking tabs that are present at the top and bottom of the switch.
