    Q:
How to replace the turn signal switch on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, for the 1992 and earlier models, shift the lever into the low gear and also turn the turn signal lever right turn. Depending on the presence of tilt column, set the model to the Up position. Next, the turn signal switch electrical connector has to be found as it is located at the base of the steering column and has to be disconnected. This wire is necessary to install so you can thread a length of this wire into the pigtail also for easier installation of this component pull the lever straight out of the steering column. Drag the turn signal switch pigtail lead up through the column, strip the wire off the pigtail lead, and fit the turn signal switch lead. Safely screw the new connector and lead it back through the pin-steering column in the manner of reversing the removal process. For models prior to 1993, for the turn signal to off the middle detents, move the lever to center position then gently remove the side cover from the steering column for the 1993 to 1995 models. Remove the turn signal switch from the handlebar to disconnect the levers wiring harness at the connector near the lever and pull the lever straight out of the turn signal switch, while to install it just reverse the process of removing.

    Q:
How to remove and install the turn signal switch located on the steering column on Chevrolet Express? Posted by Customer
    A:
The multi-function switch is situated on the steering column, with the turn signal/multifunction lever on the left side controlling lighting functions such as headlights, turn signal lights, windshield wipers, windshield washer, and, if equipped, the cruise control system. Ensure the turn signal/multi-function lever is in the OFF position and disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, waiting at least two minutes to allow the airbag system's capacitor to discharge. Remove the steering wheel and the knee bolster, and for 2003 and earlier models, take out the key lock cylinder. Next, remove the steering column covers and the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer, disconnecting the electrical connector from the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) assembly. For 2003 and earlier models, cut any cable ties securing the ignition switch wiring harness to the multi-function switch wiring harness and remove the bolt securing the ignition switch and multi-function switch electrical connectors. Separate the ignition switch electrical connector from the turn signal and multi-function switch electrical connector, then remove the turn signal/multi-function switch mounting screws to detach the switch from the steering column assembly. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
