The CKP sensor can be found behind the starter on some of the engines. First of all, it is necessary to lift the front part of the car and put it on stands. Take out the starter and deprive the CKP sensor of the wiring. After that, unscrew the mounting bolt and pull out the CKP sensor while examining the condition of O-ring for signs deterioration. For installation reverse the above mentioned steps and make sure that the CKP sensor mounting bolt must be tightened. For the year 2002 and 2003 (3.0L) V6 models, the CKP sensor is located in front of the engine by the transaxle. Loosen and then unbolt the mounting bolt and withdraw the sensor, effacing or installing a new O-ring if required. The CKP sensor, in 2004 and later (3.5L) V6 motors, can easily be accessed beneath the timing belt cover at the front crankshaft. Take off the two nuts so as to remove the timing belt cover and also the shield from the CKP wiring. Finally, to disassemble the CKP sensor, one needs to unscrew the mounting bolt and the sensor, disconnect the electrical connector. To remove it simply reverse these steps and do the idle learning to achieve stability at idle.
