    Q:
What is the location of the EGR valve and what is the common cause of faults in this emissions system on Chevrolet Caprice? Posted by Customer
    A:
The EGR Valve on GM vehicles is located on the intake manifold, by the carburetor. Most times, when a fault occurs in this emissions system it is caused by a stuck or corroded EGR valve. With the engine cold to prevent burns, reach under the EGR valve and manually push on the diaphragm. You should be able to press the diaphragm up and down within the housing using moderate pressure. If it does not or needs too much effort to move, then replace it with a new EGR valve. If you are unsure of its quality, visit your local parts store and compare the free movement of your EGR valve with a new one. The sixth part has more information about further testing of the EGR system and component replacement procedures.

    Q:
Where is the EGR valve located and how can you check its functionality on Chevrolet El Camino? Posted by Customer
    A:
On GM vehicles, the EGA valve is located on the intake manifold, adjacent to the carburetor, and faults in this emissions system often arise from a stuck or corroded EGA valve. To check the valve, ensure the engine is cold to prevent burns, then reach under the EGR valve and manually push on the diaphragm; with moderate pressure, the diaphragm should move up and down within the housing. If the diaphragm does not move or requires significant effort to do so, it is advisable to replace the EGA valve with a new one, and if there is uncertainty about the valve's quality, comparing its movement with that of a new valve at a local parts store can be helpful.

    Q:
What is the location of the EGR valve on Pontiac Firebird? Posted by Customer
    A:
The EGR valve in GM vehicles is found on the intake manifold, near the carburetor or TBI unit. Often, issues in this emissions system are due to a stuck or corroded EGR valve. To check, with a cold engine to avoid burns, manually push the diaphragm under the EGR valve. If it doesn't move easily, replace the valve. If unsure, compare the movement of your valve with a new one.

    Q:
How can the functioning of the EGR valve be checked of the 1987 Chevrolet El Camino? Posted by Customer
    A:
