Q:
How do you remove the driveaxle/hub for the 2007 Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
A:
Start by loosening the driveaxle/hub nut and the wheel lug nuts. Then, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and the brake caliper with its bracket, supporting them with a piece of wire. Take off the brake disc from the hub and unplug the wheel speed sensor electrical connector if the vehicle has ABS. Mark the strut to the steering knuckle and loosen the strut-to-steering knuckle bolt nuts. Separate the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle arm and remove the balljoint-to-steering knuckle pinch bolt, separating the balljoint from the steering knuckle. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut and push the driveaxle from the hub, supporting the end with a piece of wire. Finally, remove the strut-to-knuckle bolts and carefully separate the steering knuckle from the strut.
