To remove the tie-rod end, the front wheel lug nuts must be loosened and the parking break engaged and then putting the car on jackstands and lifting it up before removing the front wheel. Then take the tie-rod with locking pliers or wrench and unscrew the jam nut until you can align the tie-rod end with a mark on the threaded end. First you have to slacken the locking nut on the tie-rod end stud but do not remove it, second is to disconnect the tie-rod end from the
Steering Knuckle arm using a puller, third is to remove the nut and fourth is to derived the tie-rod end. Remove the tie-rod end from the tie-rod by unfastening the nut and bolts if used. For installation one has to pass the tie-rod end into the required position and the stud into the steering knuckle arm where the jam nut should be tightened to the right degree. Fix the locking nut to the stud and then torque it to the standard value of torque required. Last but not the least, fit the wheel and put back the lug nuts, lift the car, and finally tighten the lug nuts to the assigned torque and then check the car's alignment and adjust if need be.
