The knock sensors are mounted in two, 1 is left side of block and knock sensor 2 is on the right side above the starter motor. It is however difficult to access the knock sensors since they are located beneath the exhaust manifolds. First of all, lift the front of the car and secure it on jackstands to prevent slipping during the work. For all other models except 6.0L and 4WD, it may be required to drop the front driveshaft to get at knock sensor 1. In 6.0L models, to replace knock sensor 2, one has to remove the starter. For models other than 6.0 L, location and fastenings-knock sensor heat shield bolt and, depending on the car model, the heat shield should be removed. Remove the electrical connector with the left-side knock sensor that is located on the engine block to the front of the oil filler housing. Secondly, you should pull out the knock sensor retaining bolt then take out the knock sensor. Installation is done in reverse order of removal, where it is made certain that the knock sensor retaining bolt is tightened to the recommended torque.
