Cadillac Fleetwood A/C Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install an A/C switch on Cadillac Fleetwood?
A: Unplug the car's battery, then pull out the right and left sound insulators before lifting out the upper steering column cover panel. Start by taking off the lower steering column filler panel. Afterwards, you can unscrew the screws from the top of the trim plates to easily extract the left and right trim plates. Pull the screws from under the middle trim plate until the plate comes off. To access the A/C Switch, first untighten and remove the screws to slide the panel out. Disconnect the wiring connections and lift out the panel from its place. To put it back in place, plug in the wires and fix the A/C Switch in the dash using retaining screws. Once you screw in the trim plates, put back the steering column filler panels and reinstall the left and right sound insulators if you took them off. Finally, reconnect the negative battery cable. To take out the panel in late models, first remove the trims covering the center and console of the instrument panel, then the control assembly and radio. First, carefully remove all fasteners from around the control assembly bracket. Unplug the electrical connectors from both the control assembly and radio. Then remove the control assembly retention nuts so you can take it out of its bracket. To install the control assembly, undo all the steps you followed to take it out from its bracket.
