Loosen the wheel lug nuts and drive axle/hub nut, then raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheel. Unbolt and set aside the caliper and caliper mounting bracket, ensuring the caliper does not hang by the brake hose; instead, wire it to the spring or shock absorber with mechanic's wire. Remove the brake disc, followed by the drive axle/hub nut. For 2007 or earlier models, disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and free the harness from any retaining clips; for 2008 or later models, remove the wheel speed sensor from the knuckle. Remove the three hub mounting bolts from the back side of the rear knuckle, noting that it may be necessary to push the outer end of the drive axle into the hub to allow for bolt removal. Next, remove the hub nut and slide the hub and bearing assembly from the rear knuckle, using a two-or three-jaw puller if the drive axle splines stick in the hub splines. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to tighten the fasteners to the proper torque specifications, use a new drive axle/hub nut, and tighten it accordingly. Finally, tighten the brake component fasteners to the specified torque, install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the required torque.
