  Q: How do you remove and reinstall Dimmer Switch,Headlight Switch,Ignition Switch,Turn Signal Switch and Wiper Switch in a Chevrolet C1500 and K1500?

  A: In 1988 through 1994 models, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable, and for models with a Delco Loc II anti-theft audio system, ensure the lockout feature is off. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel retaining screws, disconnect electrical connectors behind the light switch, and remove the panel. Take out the light switch retaining screws and lift the switch from the trim panel. To reinstall, ensure the grounding ring is in place. For the headlight dimmer switch, remove the steering column support bracket bolts and nuts, lower the steering column, disconnect the dimmer switch electrical connector, and remove the retaining bolts. In the case of the park/neutral switch/back-up light switch for automatic transmission. For the windshield wiper/washer switch, remove the steering wheel, compress the locking plate, remove the clip retaining it to the steering column, and proceed with the disassembly steps.
