To begin the removal process, disconnect the cables from the negative and positive terminals of the battery, then take out the battery and battery box. Next, detach the air intake hose from the air cleaner resonator box located over the valve cover, and pry up the resonator box from the clips on the right side of the valve cover until its pins are free. After that, remove the throttle body and disconnect the electrical harnesses from their brackets along with the MAP sensor connector. Proceed to take off the MAP sensor bracket and disconnect the crankcase vent hose from its ports on the manifold and valve cover. Remove the engine harness bracket, ensuring to support the vehicle on jackstands to access the lower engine harness, which requires removing the left front wheel and inner fender liner. Next, take out the alternator and disconnect the vacuum hose from the power brake booster; for 2007 and later models, also remove the oil dipstick and
Dipstick Tube. Loosen the left front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands, and remove the left front wheel along with the plastic inner fender liner. Working through the fenderwell opening, remove the lower wiring harness bracket, followed by the intake manifold bolts, and then take out the manifold. Clean and inspect the intake manifold for any damage, cracks, or warping after removing the old gasket. For installation, place a new gasket in the intake manifold without the need for sealant, and then follow the reverse order of removal for reassembly, tightening the intake manifold bolts gradually from the middle bolts out to the ends.
