  Q: How to remove and reinstall the throttle body on Chevrolet Cruze?

  A: Disengage the cable from the negative battery terminal. In 2016 and later versions, completely remove engine cover fasteners and take off the oil filler cap. Pick up the valve cover insulator along with engine cover and thereafter reinstall an individual oil filler cap. It might be necessary to remove both cover and insulator separately. On 1.8 L models, remove the throttle body air inlet duct. On 1.4 L models, eliminate charge air cooler outlet pipe from a throttle body. By disconnecting it, unplug throttle actuator motor electrical connector and detach charge air cooler pipe from it. To disconnect electrical connector push up lock then unlock by depressing release tab Remove throttle body mounting bolts that hold it in place before removing throttle body itself Remove and inspect throttle body O-ring If it is not soiled or torn or damaged, you can reuse it If damaged or worn replace Installation is opposite of removal Tighten down throttle body mounting bolts Begin vehicle's engine running to check for proper operation of throttle body as well as absence of any air leaks Once battery has been disconnected; prior knowledge about drivability and performance features needs to be regained by PCM.
