Chevrolet El Camino Control Arm

Chevrolet El Camino Control Arm is one of the major components interacting between vehicle structure and wheels to enable the suspension system to respond to the roads. This component usually rotates around bushings, which enable the vertical movement of the wheel whilst still staying in axial alignment. Chevrolet El Camino has applied stamped steel, cast iron, and cast aluminum types of Control Arms through the years, where variation of strength and weight is evident. Although conventional stamped steel Control Arms are robust, they are vulnerable to corrosion issues and replacement of wear items such as bushings, and ball joints. Whereas, the fresh cast activates stronger trims with the lightest values. There are also Control Arms for Performance-oriented vehicles characterized by higher horsepower and radical handling that comes with an enhanced and reinforced structure and accurately adjusted angles. In sum, the Control Arm is critical to providing proper control and stability when driving Chevrolet El Camino vehicles.

Each OEM Chevrolet El Camino Control Arm we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Chevrolet El Camino Control Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and replace the lower control arm and its bushings on Chevrolet El Camino?
A: Remove the front coil spring, followed by the control arm ball stud, and then take the control arm out of the vehicle. Upon inspection, if the control arm pivot bushings are worn, it is advisable to have them replaced by your GM dealer; however, if you choose to do this work without a press, use a long bolt and suitable tubular spacers for both removal and installation. Note that removing the control arm is not necessary for bushing replacement, except for the front bushings on 1975 and later models. For installation, follow the reverse of the removal procedure and torque-tighten the nuts to the specified torque.
