  Q: How to remove the lock cylinder on Chevrolet C1500 and K1500 equipped with a Delco Loc II anti-theft audio system?

  A: For models having a Delco Loc II anti-theft audio system, make sure the lockout feature is off before any procedure that requires battery disconnection. 1984 through 1994 models-remove steering wheel, steering lock plate, warning buzzer switch. Remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder retaining screw and turn the key to On position to remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder from the steering column. Unscrew it and pull out of housing has been done on cylinder locks. Installation is what removal reversed. Remove the steering wheel for models manufactured in 1995 and thereafter, remove steering column cover. Start your ignition switch, insert a small Allen wrench into the hole at the top of casting while pressing release pin and turn your key to Run position then pull out your Ignition Lock Cylinder. Press the Ignition Lock Cylinder release pin with a small Allen wrench. To reinstall follow these steps as above.
