Chevrolet Trailblazer Fuel Pressure Sensor Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How Does the Fuel Evaporative Emissions Control (EVAP) System,Purge Valve,Fuel Pressure Sensor and Canister Work on Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: The evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system of fuel has various parts including the canister, purge valve, vent valve, fuel tank pressure sensor, fuel tank and vapor and purge lines. The system functions by soaking up petrol fumes from the fuel tank as well as discharging them to the engine inlet during engine operation. The vapors are absorbed by the canister which is filled with activated charcoal; they are then drawn into the intake manifold and combustion chamber through purge hose under intake manifold vacuum. The PCM modulates the flow of vapors by regulating duty cycle on EVAP purge valve control solenoid. At cold start, the system does a self-diagnostic test with PCM monitoring fuel tank pressure sensor voltage for any leakages. There are step-by-step instructions provided to replace EVAP canister, purge valve, vent valve and fuel tank pressure sensor for each of these components.
