In case, mere chain replacement is being done, other steps that are not necessary can be ignored. Start by removing the battery's negative terminal and dropping the oil pan to drain it. Siants place the engine driving gear at TDC for cylinder no 1, then take off the timing chain, the guides and sprockets and the balance shaft chain tensioner and the guides. The next step is to take off the balance shaft drive chain and keep the camshaft non-rotating. If the balance shafts are being removed, then remove the retainer bolts and the shafts from the engine block, but you'll have to make sure that you note down the position of each shaft as they are unique and cannot be swapped around for the other one. Wash all components and check on the condition of the chain tensioners, guides and sprockets and where necessary replace them.
