Removing the components requires you to turn off the car and unplug the negative battery terminal. Subsequently, it is required to pull out the air filter housing, turn out the engine oil, and strip off the drivebelt. Next, take out the drivebelt tensioner from the front cover and the crankshaft pulley, suspend the engine using an engine hoist/ supportive fixture and then take out the right
Engine Mount. Lose the right front wheel lug nuts, then lift the front part of the car and securely position it on jackstands and then remove the right front wheel. Gradually and evenly unscrew the nuts of the engine cover and remove it, and when doing this get access to the bolts mounted on the block from above the engine and from below the car. Sketch on an engine cover and bolts for an easy location of all bolts before reassembly so that one will not mix up the bolts for reassembly. Take out the water pump bolt and the front cover though you should retain the engine cover-to-block gasket if it is still good. Generally prepare this assembly as follows: The sealing areas of the engine front cover and block, don't cut in aluminum parts, scrape clean and degrease. It is also a good idea to lubricate the bushing on the Crankshaft, replace the Crankshaft front oil seal in front cover and if the gasket is damaged replace it with a new one though the front cover gasket can be used again if not spoilt. Place the front cover and studs in position, making sure that the hub on the inside of the oil pump rotor fits the flats of the crankshaft snout; tighten the studs hand tight until you have block contact. Replace the long water pump bolt and then successively torque the bolts to the standard measures. Replace the drivebelt and tensioner, indirectly apply the torque to the tensioner then the crankshaft pulley. As for the rest of the installation, it is performed in the reverse order to removal. Refuel the crankcase with the recommended grade of oil, connect the battery and start the motorcycle and then factor in oil and coolant leaks then top up as necessary.
