Q: How to remove the front wheel hub on GMC Terrain?
A: Driveaxle/hub nut loosening should be your first step when servicing models from 2007 and later. Next, remove the wheel lug nuts before vehicle raising using jackstands for secure wheel removal. The first step involves eliminating the brake disc followed by disconnecting the wheel speed sensor electrical connector then unclipping the harness from its bracket. After the second loosening of the driveaxle/hub nut you must use wire to support the driveaxle while preventing it from hanging at the inner CV joint after removing the hub and bearing. The hub mounting bolts require removal alongside hole cleaning before new high-strength thread-locking compound should be used when reinstalling. Application of hammer blows with wood blocks on the driveaxle end requires removal of the hub and bearing unit when encountered with sticking. Reversing the removal series will enable installation of the components through proper torque bolt tightening.
