- Q: How to remove and install Catalytic Converter,Exhaust Pipe and Muffler?A: Exhaust components, especially the catalytic converter, become extremely hot. Ensure they are cooled before handling. Remove the catalytic converter splash shield and detach the exhaust pipe from the manifold flange. Remove associated springs and brackets, then take out the entire exhaust system. For replacements, consult a dealer or muffler shop. For a V6: Disconnect the battery, lift the vehicle, and remove splash shields. Detach U-clamps, flange bolts, crossover pipes, and spring hangers. Remove the integrated converter/exhaust/muffler assembly. For installation, reverse removal steps, ensuring tight connections. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for exhaust leaks.
