On four-cylinder engines, the two CMP sensors are mounted on the sides of the engine near the timing chain, while on 3.5L and 3.9L V6 engines, the single CMP sensor is located at the top of the timing chain. In 3.6L V6 engines, there are four CMP sensors positioned at the timing chain end of the engine. Begin by removing the engine cover, and for 3.6L V6 models, also take off the air filter housing. Next, disconnect the electrical connector from the CMP sensor, then remove the sensor mounting bolt for V6 models. After that, take out the CMP sensor. For installation, reverse the removal steps, using a new O-ring lubricated with clean engine oil, and ensure the bolt is tightened securely.
