To remove front cable, lift the vehicle on a rack and loosen the adjuster nut on the equaliser and pull the front cable out of the retainer. Subsequently, pop the nut at the under body bracket and pull off the clip at the under body and disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever assembly and the reverse process is followed for fitting. For the left rear cable, lift up the vehicle and take out the spring, if required, extract the cable from the equalizer. In the models with rear drum brakes, the cable is disconnected from the backing plate and parking brake lever, and in the models of 1996 and earlier rear disc, disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever for the caliper and the caliper bracket. On 1997 and later rear disc models, disconnect the cable from the brake cable support bracket and the cable actuator lever, and installation is reverse of this. To engage with the right rear cable, lift and sustain the automobile; if necessary, remove the spring from the equalizer and the equalizer from the cable. Paid special attention to the fact that the cable has to be removed from the under body bracket and remove the bolts from the clips above the fuel tank. For models with rear drum brakes, disconnect the cable from the backing plate and parking brake lever, while for models with 1996 and earlier rear disc, disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever at the caliper and from the caliper bracket. In the case of rear disc models produced from 1997 on, disconnect the cable from the brake cable support bracket and the cable actuator lever and reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.
