Lift the back part of the vehicle and place it on jackstands; apply the parking brake to lock the wheels, particularly the front ones. In the case of models from 1997 and later, one has to unbolt the sway bar kit link at both ends of the sway bar kit, unscrew the insulator brackets that are found at the rear frame support, and finally, extract the shaft from the vehicle while being certain to borrow the rear sway bar kit link end nut. For all the models up to and including the year of manufacture 1996, indicate the position of the strut to knuckle. Subsequently, unbolt the nuts and set aside the sway bar kit mounting bracket, and the two sway bar kit link mounting brackets. Place the jack underneath the left knuckle and consequently, loosen the lower left knuckle mounting bolts; proceed to the removal of the sway bar kit of the left side of the knuckle. Check the bushings for signs of cracking on the outside, or hardness or wear on the inside, then swap them out if needed. Installation of the Assembly begins in reverse order of the disassembly while tightening the knuckle bolts make sure that the mark made earlier match. Last, back out the strut-to-knuckle nuts and knock the bolts out with a brass, lead or plastic hammer.
