- Q: How to remove and install a door window regulator and motor assembly on Saturn ION?A:Remove the door trim panel and the plastic watershield. Disengage the door Window Regulator from the regulator, then tape the Window Regulator in the "up" position, with the tape wrapping around the door frame. On power window models, be sure to remove the key from the ignition switch. On power window models, disconnect the electrical connector from the Window Regulator motor. The regulator assembly is comprised of a front and rear section, connected by cable. Remove the appropriate bolts and loosen the others. Remove the Window Regulator/motor assembly from the door, being careful not to kink the cables connecting the two sections of the regulator assembly. Lubricate the rollers and wear points on the regulator with white grease before installation. Installation is the reverse of removal. For the rear, remove the door trim panel and the plastic watershield. Disengage the door Window Regulator from the regulator, then tape the Window Regulator in the "up" position, with the tape wrapping around the door frame. On power window models, be sure to remove the key from the ignition switch and disconnect the electrical connector from the Window Regulator motor. Loosen the regulator/motor assembly mounting bolts. Move the regulator so that the bolts clear the slots in the door, then remove the Window Regulator/motor assembly from the door. Lubricate the rollers and wear points on the regulator with white grease before installation. Installation is the reverse of removal.
