To avoid cutting oneself on metal edges when working inside the door openings wear gloves. Regarding the door latch, first pump up the window then take out the door trim panel and the watershield. Pull the rods through the large access hole turning their plastic lips off and pulling them out of the clips to disengage the rods form the handle and lock cylinder. Pull out the electrical connectors at the latch, then unlock the inside handle rod and the lock rod from their respective tracks, the latch plate screws are then unscrewed from the door. Remove the latch assembly in which the inside handle rod together with the lock rod remains connected, then remove these two rods from the latch assembly. For the outside handle, to open it, pulling the handle, the pin at the bottom must be removed and then, moving the handle forwards, it will be unlocked. To replace the lock cylinder of the door, follow the procedure of raising the window, then, unplugging the outer door panel, pulling out the retaining clip situated at the rear part of the lock cylinder and pushing the lock into the door again, before releasing the lock rod from the latch then taking out the lock cylinder. To install, make sure that the lock is well fixed at the outer door panel and fix the retaining clip. To take off inside door handle, unscrew the screw on the cup of handle trim at the centre, pull out the handle toward the exterior and forward while removing the handle from the door panel, then you have to pull off both rods from the latch and, if there is any, cut off the wiring harness at the back side of the handle. For all components, installation is the same as removal in reverse.
