Q:
How to remove the pressure sensor in an air conditioning system for Pontiac G5? Posted by Customer
A:
The HVAC pressure switch, which is responsible for detecting low refrigerant line pressure and shutting off the NC system, is located at the compressor mounted to the lines. If the pressure becomes too high, the pressure cut-off switch, located in the high-pressure side of the system, shuts off the system. Before removing the HVAC pressure switch, it is recommended to have the air conditioning system recovered by a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning shop. To begin the removal process, the right front wheel lug nuts should be loosened, and the vehicle should be raised and securely supported on jackstands. The right front wheel and inner fender splash shield should then be removed. From underneath the vehicle, the electrical connector should be unplugged from the HVAC pressure switch, and then the switch can be unscrewed. For installation, the switch O-ring should be lubricated with clean refrigerant oil, and the new switch should be screwed in until hand tight and then securely tightened. Finally, the electrical connector should be reconnected.
