    Q:
How should you address front and rear wheel or wheel bearing looseness on Cadillac ElDorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
For front wheel or wheel bearing looseness in front wheel drive vehicles, torque lug nuts and axle nuts to specification and recheck for looseness. If the wheel bearing is worn or damaged, it should be replaced. If the wheel bearing is out of adjustment, adjust it to specification; if it remains loose, replacement is necessary. For rear wheel or wheel bearing looseness in front wheel drive vehicles, adjust the wheel bearing to specification; if it is still loose, replace it. Additionally, torque lug nuts to specification and recheck for looseness, and replace the wheel bearing if it is worn or damaged.

    Q:
How to remove and install the wheel hub assembly on Cadillac ElDorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
Lift the vehicle and keep it secure, then take off both wheel and tire. Remove the brake caliper in the backspace by doing four steps: 1) Unthread the parking brake cable from the adjuster, 2) Disconnect the cable spring at the lever end and pull up, 3) Take out the mounting bolt and washer that attach the cable support bracket to the caliper, 4) Wire up the caliper in place without disconnecting its brake hose. Unclamp and toss out the disc brake rotor retainers, and gently pull off the disc brake rotor. First, unscrew the hub attachment bolts and lift away the hub and bearing unit. Place the hub with bearing assembly on the knuckle, and bolt it in place. Tighten all bolts to 52 foot-pounds (70 Newton meters). Start with the brake rotor, put it in place. Then put the caliper back with fresh bolts for the mounting bracket, screwing them down to 83 foot-pounds (113 newton-meters). Secure the parking brake cable support bracket with a bolt and turn it until it reaches 32 foot pounds of torque. Pull up the clip of the spring-loaded cable, put the cable end inside the lever's notch, and adjust the parking brake. After doing these steps, place the wheel with the tire and slowly put the car back down onto the ground.
