Q:
How do you remove and replace the rear stabilizer bar, stabilizer bar bushing and stabilizer bar link on Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove and replace the rear sway bar kit on a vehicle, start by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts and blocking the front wheels to prevent rolling. Then, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands before removing the rear wheels. Next, detach the sway bar link from the sway bar, and if necessary, remove the rear struts to remove one or both links entirely. Remove the sway bar bushing bracket fasteners and pull the brackets off the sway bar to remove it. Inspect the bushings for any signs of damage or deterioration, and replace them if necessary. To reinstall, lubricate the inside and outside of the bushings with vegetable oil to make reassembly easier. Tighten the link and bracket fasteners to the specified torque values. Finally, install the wheels and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts.
