The location of the blower motor can change from year to year and can vary with the trim level of the vehicle. A vehicle that has front and rear climate controls may be configured differently than a vehicle that has front controls only. The following are two different repair procedures. One is given because the blower motor is located and accessed in the engine compartment, the other is given because the blower motor is mounted inside the vehicle. For the engine compartment procedure, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the cowl cross-tower brace, cut the rubber insulator at the guidelines and remove the metal patch plate beneath. Remove the blower motor electrical connector, cooling hose, and mounting screws. Disengage the blower motor from the case. Install the blower motor fan assembly, connect the blower motor electrical connector, cooling hose, and mounting screws. Install the patch plate and the seal insulator patch. Replace the cowl cross-tower brace and connect the negative battery cable. For the passenger compartment procedure, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the right-hand instrument panel insulator, detach the blower motor electrical connector, remove the right-hand body hinge pillar trim panel, remove the bolts/screws holding the blower motor cover and remove the cover. Install the motor, install the bolts/screws, install the right-hand body hinge pillar trim panel, connect the blower motor electrical connector, install the right-hand instrument panel insulator, and connect the negative battery cable. For Eldorado and Seville, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove 2 nuts from each side and remove the cowl cross-tower brace, remove the 2 cowl relay center bracket mounting nuts and position the cowl relay center aside, detach the wiring connector and the cooling tube from the blower motor and remove the blower motor mounting screws, remove the MAP sensor mounting bracket and position aside, tilt the blower motor in the case and remove the fan from the blower motor, remove the blower motor from the case, remove the fan from the case, install the fan into the case, position the blower motor into the case, then install the fan onto the blower motor, install the MAP sensor-mounting bracket, install the blower motor mounting screws and connect the cooling hose and wiring connector, position the cowl relay center and install the cowl relay center bracket nuts.
