Q:
How to remove the Blower Motor in a Chevrolet C1500 and K1500? Posted by Customer
A:
The front heater assembly is located on the right side of the vehicle's dash panel. The air inlet assembly and coolant hoses are on the engine side of the firewall, while the heater core, blower motor, and air distributor duct are on the passenger's side. To remove the front heater, start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Then, disconnect the blower motor wiring and hose, and remove the glove box and right side kick panel if necessary. On older models, disconnect the ECM wiring connectors and remove the bolt from the right side of the instrument panel. Pull out the corner of the instrument panel for clearance, remove the blower motor mounting screws, and withdraw the motor and fan. On 1988-1991 models, the fan can be removed from the motor shaft after unscrewing the nut. For 1992 and later models, remove the plastic tip at the end of the motor shaft and use a puller or press to remove the fan from the motor shaft. When reinstalling the fan, leave a clearance of 0.22 inch between the fan and the motor mount plate. For the rear auxiliary heater in Suburban models, start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and removing the right-hand rear quarter inside trim panel. Disconnect the blower motor wiring, remove the blower motor mounting screws, and withdraw the blower motor from the fan module. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Q:
How do you remove the blower motor and inlet assembly on the 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass? Posted by Customer
A:
Start by removing the right front inner fender panel. Disconnect the wiring at the lower assembly and remove the 5 nuts and 2 screws securing the inlet assembly to the dash panel. Pull the entire assembly straight off the studs and remove it from the inner fender panel. The blower motor can be separated from the inlet assembly by removing the attaching screws.
